Marvel #1000 - Everything You Need To Know

Is it just a celebration? Or do the House of Ideas have something else planned?

Marvel is currently in the midst of its biggest event in years with War of the Realms, but that hasn't stopped the House of Ideas from barrelling headfirst into their next big thing.

Over the course of the last week, various writers and artists were teasing an upcoming collaboration of sorts. Pooling creators from across the industry - some old, others new - it looked as though Marvel were gearing up for something huge. That 'something' was then revealed to be Marvel Comics #1000, a celebratory one-shot designed to coincide with the publisher's eightieth birthday.

Much like DC did with Action Comics #1000 and Detective Comics #1000, this upcoming comic is set to be a bumper issue and features so much talent that some creators will only be getting a page each to work their magic.

It's not without its faults so far though. There are 97 individual creators involved in the issue, but only nine of them are women. It doesn't take a long time to realise that ratio is way off.

Be that as it may, there's still plenty about the issue for Marvel fans to get excited about. Here's everything we know so far...
