Marvel Spoils Legacy #1 Returning Character Days Before Release

It's not even the return we wanted...

You know, for an event that promised to bring sweeping changes to the Marvel Universe, Legacy sure does feel familiar, doesn't it?

And not in a good, 'we're bringing back the Fantastic Four', kind of way either. No, the big returning character coming in Legacy #1 - "the return of the heart of the Marvel Universe" will, according to ComicBook.com, be Wolverine.

You know, the 'I've only been dead for three years' Wolverine, Wolverine. Oh, and he also an infinity stone - read ahead for Axel Alonso's comments on the matter:

"After three years of a Logan-free Marvel Universe, Logan is back, claws popped and ready for action. How he came back, why he came back, and just how he came into possession of that Infinity Stone are part of a fascinating story that’s going to unveil soon, and in some unusual places."

So yet again, Marvel have spoiled the big reveal from what could, for all intents and purposes, be the year's most hotly anticipated comic and, to make matters worse, it's not even that exciting a reveal either. Genuinely, who cares if Logan's back? We've had his old doppelgänger roaming around in the comics for the past year or so anyway.

We're still very much excited to see just how Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic's one-shot plays out, but of all the candidates Marvel could've chosen to lead their latest relaunch, Wolverine feels like the easiest option they could've gone with. Granted, the character's popular, but why does he - more than the Fantastic Four, Bruce Banner etc. - get the big resurrection? Not even Steve Rogers returned this quickly after his death.

Marvel Legacy #1 releases this Wednesday, and we'll be discussing that and more on the comics channel that very same day. As for the reveal, what are your thoughts? Are you excited for Logan's return? Let us know in the comments below!
