Is there anything quite as fulfilling as seeing the Clown Prince of Crime at his maniacal best?

As the Joker gets set to arrive in Mortal Kombat 11 later this month as the latest part of the game’s Kombat Pack DLC, new footage has surfaced to show just what devious antics the Harlequin of Hate will be getting up to in MK11.

While the Joker has been a hugely enjoyable part of the two Injustice games to date, one issue some gamers have had with that franchise’s Mr. J is that he’s just not quite as downright sinister and brutal as he should be. Likewise, his appearances in the Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe game of 2008 held back on letting the supervillain be too gnarly in his attacks.

Sure, it’s one thing to sling chattering teeth at an opponent or even fire off a quick pistol round, but Mortal Kombat 11 is completely upping the ante when it comes to those dastardly behaviour of this most heinous of characters.

From the footage seen, Joker will have a Batman puppet-housed gun, a hefty cane, a big ol’ knife, and his trusty crowbar as just some of the tricks up his sleeve. But it’s the very confines of the Mortal Kombat franchise itself which is the most exciting prospect for Joker fans – for MK’s infamous gore and gratuity allows the Joker to slice ‘n’ dice his way through victims in a savage way not yet seen in a video game outing before.

Not only will the Joker be available on early access on January 28th – non-early access users will have to wait until February 4th – but Mr. J will also be accompanied by a DC Elseworlds Skin Pack that offers up a Batman Who Laughs skin for Noob Saibot, a Killer Croc skin for Baraka, a Catwoman skin for Kitana, and an Apokolips skin for Geras.

The Joker is just the latest character to be released from the Kombat Pack DLC, following in the footsteps of Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, the T-800 Terminator, and Sindel. Rounding out the pack, Spawn will be made available as a playable character on March 17th.
