This week’s chapter follows up from the exciting cliffhanger from last week’s installment and Kishimoto manages to continue that excitement, especially with how it develops to the end of this latest installment!
Naruto charges his new attack, the Rasengan Planet, towards Mu and he manages to dodge it as the Third Tsuchikage tells Naruto that he is a sensory type ninja. While still in the air, Naruto tells Gaara to make a platform from his sand and he does so and before Mu releases his powerful dust attack, Naruto uses his chakra form to stretch an arm and hits him extremely hard that pushes him through the mountains and is then hit by the Third Tsuchikage. Using his rock technique, he manages to stop Mu’s movements and Gaara sinks him into the sand and seals him away.
Gaara asks Naruto why he has come onto the battlefield and Naruto tries to explain, but the Third Tsuchikage says that they should all go to the next battlefield and Naruto should explain his story on the way. Meanwhile, the Second Mizukage is on the battlefield surrounded by wounded ninjas and saying that he might be too strong for his own good.
After explaining the story to them, Naruto heads out to one battlefield, while Gaara and the Third Tsuchikage head to the other.
Temari and other ninjas are trying to stop the Third Raikage and as his body is healing himself, Temari tries to strategize how to beat him. The Third Raikage then notices Dodai, a fellow ninja he once knew and Dodai tells Temari that they would need a lot of wind element users to stop him. Furthermore, Dodai says that he died due to facing against ten thousand people in battle that lasted for three days and three nights and that is when Kabuto takes full control of the Third Raikage. Naruto jumps into the battle and jumps high into the air and is about to attack the controlled Raikage.
Meanwhile, a giant rumble breaks the ground and a white Zetsu is yelling at someone in panic and is hit by a dark attack before his engulfed in black flames. The ceiling collapses and a bright light beams onto Sasuke, with a newly formed Sasanoo and he opens his eyes to reveal his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan!
This was my personal favorite chapter that I have read for some time, with some great action and a great re-introduction of Sasuke into the series. The art team managed to put in the small fight between Naruto and Mu was great to see, while I was surprised to see them doing great artwork on the frame where we see the Third Raikage in the past is about to take on ten thousand ninjas before his demise.
Meanwhile, Sasuke’s return was really given some special attention and managed to make his return both dramatic and special, as we saw Sasuke combining his Sasanoo’s sword with his Amaterasu, giving us a small preview on what is to come.
