Spider-Man Homecoming: 8 Reasons Why It's Basically Iron Man 4
7. Stark Is The Catalyst For The Entire Story
Without Iron Man, there would be no Spider-Man in the MCU. Simple as.
Not only did Tony Stark assume the role of talent scout to Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War, he gave him his first taste of superheroics and provided him with a pimped-up version of the iconic Spidey getup.
What's more, Homecoming would be nothing more than an alternative high school movie without Stark and the impact he's had within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since there would be no Vulture either.
Although there was always darkness in Adrian Toomes - he showed as much when he slugged that government agent early in the film - the villain only turns to tech-enhanced crime because Stark's organisation has muscled in on alien clean-up jobs.
The Vulture was essentially Iron Man's mess to sort out, and while he plays an integral part in Toomes's downfall, calling in the FBI was never gong to work, was it?
