Cover Wars #1 - Empire vs. Total Film

Total Film got the raw deal at the studio deal-making table for this month's front cover Summer-event movie splash. TF boasts the oddly time-warped (how much does it look like a 90's film???), less sexier and less interesting version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Knight & Day, a movie which might only be saved if Cruise & Diaz become a romantic item. Is there anything else that might make anything but the lamest film-goer see it, other than the untimely death of one of it's stars? In fact, the image of Cruiz/Diaz they have used holds no cinematic identity, it's probably unclear to Joe Popcorn that it's a publicity image featuring them as the characters from the film rather than them just simply wearing their normal clothes. Empire on the other hand are more in-tuned with the smart-minded, hip and secure movie-goer. Those that respect the money they spend at the cinema, those that want their brains to be challenged and thrilled in equal-measure, and the word is they have several exclusives with Christopher Nolan and his Batman 3and Superman reboot - who is obviously the man of the moment. Above photo was taken via Peter Willis' iPhone in Glasgow yesterday. Cover Wars - EMPIRE 1 TOTAL FILM 0.
