Batman V Superman: New Joker Easter Egg Spotted
Batman carries what The Joker did with him everywhere he goes...
Warner Bros/DC All AccessIf you didn't spot the little Joker Easter Egg in the future-set Knightmare sequence in Batman v Superman, you're probably not the only one. It was so well hidden that it's only now that the costumes are available to be seen at DC Universe: The Exhibit (the new addition to the Warner Bros studio tour) that it's been uncovered.
DC All Access were given a private tour of the exhibit, which includes costumes and props from Man Of Steel, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad among others, and spotted the Egg.
Though it wasn't played up enough in the film, Batman is haunted by what The Joker did to his Robin, killing him off and leaving a taunting message daubed across his body. This Easter Egg confirms that Bats takes that emotional wound with him as far as the Knightmare future, as he has a Joker card taped to the stock of his rifle. Presumably it's there to remind him of the reason he fights (or to provide him with grounding or something)... Whatever the motivation, it's a great little nod.
Hopefully, we're going to see more of this relationship - and more of the fallout from Robin's murder - in the stand-alone Batman movie in 2018. For now, this is just another reminder of how important it is in Ben Affleck's Batman's mentality.
