Onto the films now, and while it's fair to say Sir Christopher Lee's Count Dooku didn't get nearly enough development onscreen as he did off it, there's no getting away from the fact he made for a fantastic villain. The Count also brandished an interesting blade too, one that sported a curved hilt.

While that may seem a tad unconventional, or indeed even impractical, the curve on Dooku's lightsaber actually benefitted his frenetic and free-flowing style of lightsaber combat.

A one-handed duelist, Dooku was renowned for being one of the most skilful lightsaber users in the galaxy, a reputation that preceded him by the time he turned to the Dark Side before the Clone Wars.

It's a brilliant blade though, and while we're yet to see the design imitated in any other storylines since, there's no denying its aesthetic value, especially when it was in the hands of the late, great Sir Christopher Lee.
