10 Bold Predictions About Every Upcoming MCU Movie

Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and more.

So much has happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the course of the last decade. Superhero teams have been assembled before being ripped apart, villains have risen and fallen, and cosmic forces are at work.

The next chapter in this epic saga hits UK theatres this week when Thor: Ragnarok brings everyone's favourite thunder god back to the big screen and this will be followed by T'Challa's solo debut in Black Panther early next year.

While there are plenty of reasons to be excited about these two movies, the one the fans are truly psyched about is Avengers: Infinity War, which is set to bring a decade's worth of comic book adaptations to a head.

The story that began in the original Iron Man will approach its epic conclusion when Tony Stark lines up alongside his fellow Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy and their allies to take on Thanos in what promises to be an epic showdown.

The events of this universe-shattering conflict will spill over into 2019's untitled Avengers sequel, but this story's conclusion won't bring the curtain down on the MCU. There are many more tales to tell in this universe, and indeed, they will begin in Spider-Man: Homecoming's sequel, Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Given that Infinity War's debut trailer is yet to arrive, much about the MCU's future beyond Ragnarok is shrouded in darkness, but between the exiting films and the comics they're based on, Marvel has offered a hint or two about what the future might hold for the Avengers and co.

10. Black Panther Will Set Up Shuri's Ascension

Letitia Wright's Shuri may be a newcomer to the MCU, but she's been a major player in the comics for years, and big things are surely on the horizon for her in the movies.

In the world of Marvel Comics, T'Challa's sister has suited up as a female version of Black Panther to help protect Wakanda, and even had a stint as its ruler while her brother lay in a coma.

If she doesn't don the mantel of the Panther in her big screen debut, expect the movie to set this up for one of the upcoming Avengers films or a future sequel.

The Black Panther trailers have presented T'Challa as a tech whizz who's well versed in the ways of Vibranium. From the look of things, she hooks T'Challa up with his Panther getup, and thus clearly has the know-how to fashion a suit for herself.

To don the mantel, the wearer must be approved as worthy by the Panther God, but that will surely be a matter of time for Shuri after Erik Killmonger and Ulysses Klaue bring trouble to Wakanda.

Given that the success of DC's Wonder Woman has paved the way for a golden age of female superheroes on the big screen, it makes sense for Shuri's MCU path to mirror that of the comics. The good guys could certainly use an extra pair of claws when Thanos and his minions show up in Infinity War.
