10 Comic Book Movies That Should've Been Made Years Ago

The comic book movie industry is absolutely huge. You only have to look to this year as a prime example of that, as no less than four of the six highest-grossing movies of 2014 were movies based on Marvel's superheroes (those being Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2). As a result, there has been a hell of a lot of movies made about comic book movie characters in recent years. In addition to those mentioned above, there have also been movies about Iron Man, Thor, Superman, Batman, Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Blade, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Elektra, Spawn, Hellboy, Constantine, The Mask and Green Lantern, amongst others. In fact, as far back as 1986, the extremely obscure Marvel character Howard the Duck was given a movie, while other lesser known characters like Jonah Hex, Tank Girl, Barb Wire, The Crow, The Shadow and The Rocketeer have all received the big screen treatment as well. With that in mind, it really is a mystery why certain other characters - or certain other plots, premises and combinations of characters - haven't yet received a live action portrayal.
