Whereas some actors are humbled by their positions at the centre of the universe, there are many who have lost sight of themselves as “non-Godly people,” and have become renowed for their turbulent work ethic. That’s to say, you don’t want to irk them whilst their getting into the heads of their characters. Sometimes it’s not even a matter of giving them space, though: some actors are so egotistical and self-obsessed that they feel like they deserve the combined respect of every living creature. What they frequently fail to remember? They’re just actors.

There’s probably a story about how each and every Hollywood actor went crazy one day and started shouting at the caterers because “there were no vegan options,” and that’s fair enough, I suppose – the stress of working on a motion picture would likely get the best of all of us at times, and sorry Mr. Caterer, you just happened to be in the way. There are those Hollywood bigshots, however, who have earned themselves reputations as “bonafide pains in the backside” time and time again – in some rare cases, this behavior has put an end to careers.

Here’s 10 actors who are known for being notoriously difficult to work with. You might be surprised at a few of the inclusions, too. Note: I opted not to include anybody who is no longer living. Respect the dead, man.
