When Titanic grossed over $1 billion at the box office, it was a monumental occasion. It was the first film to do so, and remained the highest grossing film of all time until James Cameron topped himself twelve years later with the release of Avatar. Since then, more and more films have joined the “billion dollar club,” joining Cameron’s works amongst the biggest winners at the global box office.
There are, currently, seventeen films that hold that honor. In order of worldwide gross from bottom to top they are: The Dark Knight, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Jurassic Park, Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Toy Story 3, The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, The Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Iron Man 3, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, The Avengers, Titanic, and Avatar.

I’ve compiled a list of 10 upcoming releases that will most likely cross the $1 billion mark…
