10 Greatest Movie Endings Of All Time

The Ten Greatest Film Endings Of All Time

For years, so called film critics have drawn up lists of films that they consider to be "The Greatest Of All Time". There's been "Greatest Film Quotes", "Greatest Film Deaths", and just the age old "Greatest Film". As with any film though, any opinion is purely subjective; what one person considers to be a marvelous film, to someone else, they think it was dreadful. That's why "Greatest of All Time.." lists often draw the ire of the general public and get them talking among themselves about what really was the Greatest so and so, and I thought, well that's a pretty good idea! So without further ado, I bring to you my Top Ten Greatest Movie Endings Of All Time. Enjoy.

10. Some Like it Hot

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYUfPTeE0DM This Screwball Comedy Film is capped off by the final scene of Jerry and Osgood in a boat. Jerry, disguised as a woman to evade gangsters, tries to explain to Osgood, who has developed something of an infatuation with him, that he cannot marry him, offering a series of objections: such as "she" smokes a lot; "She" can't get married in Osgood's mother's dress ("we are not built the same way") and finally, and rather hysterically obvious, "She" sadly "can never have children." Osgood dismisses all these protests as insignificant; he loves "Daphne" and is determined to marry her. Finally, Jerry removes his wig and says in his male voice, "I'm a man!", but a smiling Osgood overrides this final barrier using the film's memorable last line, "Well... nobody's perfect!" Brilliant.
