08. Dory – Finding Nemo
Fish are great. They swim around all day in their little tank minding their own business and causing you minimal stress. They’re also easy to replace when they die and our stupid kids wont even be bright enough to notice the difference. Perfect pet right? Once in a while though you get one with real character, like my mum’s Goldfish for example who’s been alive over a decade and seems genuinely attached to her despite the whole 5 second memory thing.
Dory’s a lot like that. She’s not just your average bottom feeder, she’s full of the joys of life and is the perfect antithesis for her uptight, neurotic travelling buddy Marlin the Clown Fish. She’s that annoying friend you have that constantly embarrasses you in public but you’d be completely lost without. She’s the modern day equivalent of Jimminy Cricket, the voice inside our heads that makes us do crazy things we wouldn’t normally do and for those reasons Dory makes it onto this list of beloved Pixar characters.

The Top 10 should be 10 Toy Story characters tbh, they are all better than any other pixar film.
Russell from Up has to be in there. The first five minutes of that film alone made him worthy of the list, let alone the rest of it which were also fantastic!

Seriously? Two Cars characters? There are several reason those are the most poorly received of all the Pixar movies, and that is because they are children’s drivel with little story. The characters aren’t that well rounded, and the stories are paper thin.
The fact that Marlin is on your list over Nemo himself is also a shame. Heck, if there were to be a character in addition to Dory, who is the best in that entire film, I’d pick almost anyone over Marlin. Nemo, Bruce, even the turtles.
You’re missing Wall-E and Eve, the rolling bugs from A Bug’s Life.. so so many.
Seriously, is the creator of this list 5 years old? Mater?! Dory?! Two of the most annoying Pixar characters? In addition, Mike from Monster’s Inc and Marlin are pretty annoying too.
I would substitute Wall-E, Eve, Carl Frederickson and Sully.
