Ben Affleck has worked hard to change the public’s opinion of him from Hollywood pretty boy to serious director, and his first two films were enough to solidify him as someone to pay attention to. His third film, Argo, is the true story of how governments in the United States and Canada partnered to rescue six U.S. foreign service members who had evaded the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. The governments worked to convince Iran that the hostages were members of a film crew scouting the area for a movie called Argo. Affleck stars along with great actors like Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Alan Arkin, Kyle Chandler, and Philip Baker Hall. It’s a fascinating story that sounds too crazy to be true, and hopefully it will prove to be a third success for Affleck.
Argo will be in theaters on October 12th.
