10 Really Annoying Moments In Captain America: The Winter Soldier

10. Scarlett€™s Face Mask

In Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol the series' trademark face masks were dropped when the 3D printer (how futuristic) that makes them broke, but it looks like Simon Pegg got it fixed so he could lend it to Scarlett Johansson for The Winter Soldier. Of course, the real reason Brad Bird€™s M:I sequel didn€™t use those masks was because it had become a tired plot device pushed to its limits in the previous films (although it really was a bit lazy to begin with), so when The Winter Soldier pulls the exact same trick, albeit with some CGI enhancements, it's perplexing to say the least. At the film's climax it€™s revealed Jenny Agutter€™s World Security Council member has been replaced by Johansson's Agent Romanov, but instead of the chipper €œoh cool€ the film wants, the audience reaction is something close to a groan-enhanced €œreally?!€ There's simply no precedent, and having never been used in the MCU before it just doesn't sit right. Yes, Alexander Pierce needs to be subdued somehow, but the solution presented is a couple of rewrites away from being a finished product.
