As soon as Ben Affleck was announced as the latest actor to portray the caped crusader the internet exploded with criticism. Some of it was lingering on his poor performance in Daredevil, others were scathing attacks which insulted his acting and directorial abilities, as well as making personal jabs which were in no way acceptable. Unlike many comic book superheroes, Batman has had an abundance of on screen performances; ranging from the comedic times of Adam West to the unintentionally laughable George Cooney film, and then the ultra serious and immensely popular portrayal by Christian Bale. With so many actors having played this role it is inevitable that Affleck was going to get some criticism, but he has so many redeeming features which are bound to help him become the best Batman to grace our screens so far. Lets get it out of the way; Daredevil was a steaming pile of cow dung which should never have been made. The script was pretty bad, the characters were two-dimensional and cartoony, the costumes were awful and the action sequences were dire. But, now lets realise that Ben Affleck is not reprising that role; this is a new role, so we should not be basing our judgements on a film made over a decade ago.
