8. Die Hard 2 Edited For TV
Here's one instance of censorship so ludicrous that it had to be included even though it doesn't stem from the BBFC. American network TV is famous for its conservative, stringent content guidelines, such that even after the so-called "watershed", sex, violence and swearing must be toned down; if you want all that stuff, you largely have to subscribe to cable channels like HBO. As such, when these networks air movies, they often have to cut and re-dub all the "pervasive" content, and one classic example that has snuck its way onto YouTube is the
calamitous network re-edit of Die Hard 2. The best moments? Colonel Stewart swearing at a female news reporter being re-edited to "I've got two words...joke...and you!", the re-use of this to edit one of McClane's dialogues, and the hilarious voice used to re-dub Bruce Willis. It's absolutely horrid, though is a grand source of amusement, and given how mediocre the 2nd Die Hard film is, it certainly makes for an interesting, new way to watch it.
