10 Severely Underrated Horror Films For Halloween

If you fancy something different from Freddy Vs Jason Vs Michael...

There's an established canon of scary movies for you to watch in this most horrific of months (because of Halloween, not just the changing weather) (but partly because of the weather) and, really, you can't really go wrong by following it. For established horror fans, however, the time may have come to finally move past the Freddies, Jason, and Michael Myers of the world. You may have finally exhausted the endless sequels, reboots and remakes of your favourite franchises, and are looking to move into something a little more obscure. Something that you've never seen. Something new and terrifying that can scare the pants off of even your jaded, cynical butt. Thankfully, horror films are a dime a dozen. Literally, there's like good twelve dozen of the things on Netflix alone. October will see any number of new releases hit the cinemas but all year round there are new attempts at establishing horror icons online, direct-to-video or otherwise. There's a massive heap of horror films to choose from which, unfortunately, means there's a lot of crappy horror films to chose from - but there are always some diamonds in the rough, it's just difficult to see at times. This Halloween, instead of traipsing down Elm Street again or inviting some Child's Play to unfold with bloody inevitability in your living room, why not check out one of these ten severely underrated horror films? You'll be glad you did. Once the nightmares stop, anyway...
