10 Star Wars Villains Who Weren't As EVIL As You Think

Sure, this bunch of Star Wars characters were baddies. But were they really completely evil?

The galaxy far, far away has seen some of the most iconic and intimidating villains ever to pop up on the big and small screen over the decades.

However, outside of figures like the utterly despicable Darth Sidious and a few more completely irredeemable antagonists, a lot of Star Wars baddies actually aren't as entirely wicked as you may think.

Now there's no getting away from the fact that the following characters have certainly been a part of, or responsible for, some absolutely horrendous acts during their time in this franchise - murdering innocent souls, helping blow up planets, and sometimes talking a long ol' walk on the dark side.

But even with that being the case, each of these villains still definitely weren't all bad, and showed on a number of occasions that they actually had a point, weren't completely devoid of emotion or love, or were simply the victim of some rather heartbreaking actions.

You may think all of these Star Wars baddies are as vile and detestable as they come. But the truth is a little more complex and highlights how this lot weren't quite as evil as you've been led to believe.

10. Jango Fett

Long before his baby boy would go on to become one of the galaxy's most feared bounty hunters, Jango Fett could be found helping the likes of Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus, playing a part in the attempts to assassinate Padmé Amidala, and clashing with a few Jedi during Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

All that tells the story of a beskar-sporting bounty hunter who didn't care which side of the fight he was on, only that he got paid.

But there was actually a lot more to the genetic template for the entire clone army than that.

On top of being classed as an "honourable" man by old friend/pirate Hondo Onaka (at 9:50 in the clip below), Jango evidently cared for his additional request after agreeing to be the clones' genetic template: his unaltered clone son, Boba.

While he would go out of his way to label the rest of the clone army as "livestock bred as cannon fodder", Jango took the time to train and raise his boy (via StarWars.com), teaching him valuable combat skills and the ruthlessness needed to survive in this unforgiving galaxy before his shocking death via lightsaber on Geonosis.

Again, the Mandalorian-armour-wearing mercenary wasn't what you'd class as a perfect role model by any means, but he clearly loved his boy and had an excellent relationship with his clone son.

Put simply, this deadly assassin was still a pretty good dad.
