10 Theme Park Rides Inspired By Movies We Need To Ride

4. The E.T. Adventure Ride

E T Ride Universal Studios Florida 5052 Oi The fact that this ride still exists should suggest just how classic and well designed it was. Being the only original attraction left at Universal Studios Florida the E.T. Adventure was first released in 1990. Much of it is still the same. The ride lacks the CGI effects the other attractions use, instead employing animatronics and models. The riders know they are in for a treat when Steven Spielberg himself gives the opening pre-show video before they are loaded onto the bicycles that will carry them through space. The seats are like actual bicycles from the movie and the ride plays more towards the last chase scene where Elliot, his older brother, and friends race the police and government to get E.T. back to his own mother ship. However, the ride also starts like the movie in the dark woods. The beginning is suspenseful as the riders move through the forest trying to avoid police then takes a turn into feelings of wonder as the bicycles lift up into the air. As you pass over the city the suspense leaves replaced by one of joy as you make it to the mother ship where E.T., is reunited with the other little aliens and the day is saved. An oldie, but still a goodie, check out the E.T. ride while you still can. An overall satisfying experience.
