10 Things You Need To Know About The DC Extended Universe

Marvel best watch out.

In 2008, Marvel introduced us all to the concept of a shared Cinematic Universe. And, thanks to the success they've found since then, other studios are now attempting to do the same, with everyone from Robin Hood to Universal's Monsters all set to become part of shared worlds over the next few years. However, nothing has really looked like it'll threaten the Marvel Cinematic Universe's box office dominance. With only sporadic releases of DC Comics movies of varying quality and a lot of underwhelming/terrible films from 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures, competition really isn't something Kevin Feige has had to worry about. Until now that is. It took a while, but Warner Bros. have finally started focusing on the vast catalogue of DC Comics characters they own, and while it's still early days, the DC Extended Universe as it's become known is shaping up to be very exciting indeed. The curtain may have been pulled back on Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad with some effective trailers last month, but what else is in store for those movies, not to mention the respective solo outings of the heroes who will be reporting for duty as part of the Justice League? What about the previously announced or rumoured DC Comics movies that aren't currently part of that 2016 - 2020 slate? Here, you will find an in-depth and revealing guide to everything you need to know about what's come over the next few years in the DC Extended Universe!
