10 Worst Movies That Hollywood Almost Made

Hollywood makes its fair share of bad movies in any given year, and it does make you think - if someone green-lit crap like Movie 43, then how bad must those movie ideas be that didn't get accepted? Hollywood's crazy excess apparently knows no bounds going by this list; we've got ego-maniacal actors punching above their weight, studio executives who think they can butcher classic franchises without impunity, and several bizarre sequels and remakes that would have been nothing short of sacrilege. Here are 10 movies that even Hollywood managed to put a stop to before production began, 10 movies so awfully, so cynically misguided that our lives would be worse off if they actually existed. Here are the 10 worst movies that Hollywood almost made.

10. Steven Seagal's Ghengis Khan

Though we now have our one, good Ghengis Khan movie (2007's Mongol), back in the early 2000s, the well was still dry, so dry apparently, that the idea of Steven Seagal playing the fearless, ferocious leader was actually entertained. The project was Seagal's dream project to such an extent that he scouted locations and ran casting sessions himself, though casting Chinese people as his own family apparently wasn't enough for him to realise that he was white, and therefore an awful, even offensive choice to play Khan. Thankfully, the project was promptly derailed after Seagal's shady business partner with ties to the Mafia tried to shake Seagal down in order to force him into making more movies. The whole thing fell apart in the wake of this, and we were all deprived of what surely would have made Seagal's current cinematic output look like the work of a 1970s Francis Ford Coppola by comparison.
