79. Shanna the She-Devil
Going with the Frank Cho series as my origin choice, Shanna is the last of a series of genetically made super strong woman created by the Nazis and discovered by explorers lost on an island full of dinosaurs and prehistoric beasts. Of course theres a longer history for Shanna in the comic books and theres a ton of other Cavegirl comics out there that follow much the same premise but for me this choice is one that Hollywood is missing out on. In the fifties and sixties cinema screens were full of mad stuff like this. Cavegirls and Jungle Girls were everywhere but we havent seen a great one on our screens for years. Imagine this. A team of explorers making there was through a jungle. Then they are chased by a T-Rex and just as they are cornered and about to get eaten a Jungle Girl leaps onto the beast and takes it down single handily. No guns, no cleaver traps, just a bad ass girl taking down a dinosaur. Of course there is more to it than that (check out Frank Chos amazing miniseries for more) but essentially this is a project I would love to hit our big screens.
How Close Is It To Being Made?: Sadly, theres not even a hint that this sort of thing is being explored. Gutter.
Casting Choices: Id go Diora Baird for this one. The actress, who unfortunately doesnt get enough lead roles in mainstream movies would fit this role very well I think. She has a sense of humour (which lets face it this role would need) and given the costume designs (or lack there of), she has the body for it too. Bring back Cavegirls to our big screen Hollywood!

78. Judge Death: Boyhood of a Superfiend
Hollywood is big on origin stories, and with the renewed interest in the Dredd character, who better to get the big screen treatment than his greatest foe. Unlikely to happen? Most definitely. That doesn't stop me from thinking it would make a great movie. If Dredd does well enough to warrant a sequel, the Dark Judges are sure ton feature. While many of the movie going public may not know the character, fans of 2000AD's most epic lawman will know the terror and destruction Death causes. Coming from another dimension, Boyhood of a Superfiend details how a young man called Sidney went from being the harshest judge in his precinct, to the complete embodiment of evil. The son of a travelling dentist who liked to murder people in his van, Sidney joined the judge force for an excuse to legally kill people and became known for his tendency to pass out the death sentence for every crime. All of this happening before he even became a walking corpse. We'd also get to see the transformation of Judges Fear, Fire and Mortis, and how he came to realise that all crime was committed by the living, and so life itself must be a crime.

77. ABC Warriors
ABC Warriors is a long running 2000AD script, featuring a team of robots who were designed to be able to withstand Atomic, Bacterial and Chemical warfare. Oh I see what they did there. When ABC Warriors was introduced to 2000AD readers, one of them, the robot Hammerstein was already known to many readers. Like Strontium Dog, Hammerstein came to the galaxy's greatest comic from the short lived Starlord magazine, after it went out of business. Since then there have been great and visually appealing comics featuring these metal killing machines, each with their own personalities. There's the ice cool sniper, the mindless killing machine, a robot who drinks the oil of his dead enemies, among others. It's a colourful cast if nothing else.
How Close Is It To Being Made?: Hammerstein has actually already appeared in a film. Now I don't generally want to talk about the abysmal 1995 Judge Dredd film, but for a film that seemed to do its best to piss of the comic's fans, it had the most bizarre and probably coolest piece of fan service. Rico Dredd, the film's antagonist happens to have a robot bodyguard, who is none other than Hammerstein himself. Of course, much like the movie this Hammerstein was a bastardisation of the original character, retaining none of the qualities that made him popular and was nothing more than an angry bucket of bolts. An ABC Warriors film would be great. I mean it's giant robots, punching, shooting and exploding the nuts n bolts out of each other. Also, one of the robots is called Joe Pineapples. That name alone deserves its own movie.

76. Iron West
In Central California in the late 19th Century robots are discovered lying dormant in an old mine, reactivated by their discovery they begin forming an army and plotting to take over the world. Meanwhile coniving train robber Preston Struck finds himself embroiled in this battle for the planet, despite never really wanting to do much more than cheat everyone he knows, except the prostitute Ms. Sharon who came out to California on the promise that Struck would marry her, another promise he hasn't kept. Stumbling upon an Mi-Wuk Indian Shaman called Two Rivers, and his sasquatch friend, Struck begins to get some sense of responsibility and - with the remaining townsfolk - takes the fight back to the robots in suitably spectacular fashion.
How Close Is It To Being Made?: Despite three of TenNapel's books being in development, it's a shame that Iron West isn't one of them, but that's not much of a surprise given the lacklustre box office of blockbuster Westerns like Wild Wild West and Cowboys & Aliens, to which this novel shares many shades. Additionally, outside of the Transformers films, big robot action isn't exactly box office gold (Battleship).
Casting Choices: Preston Struck would be a great opportunity to give Sam Rockwell a chace to really show off his scruffy, yet elegant, likability in a charming, Bruce Campbell-esque, leading man role. So, with that in mind, it'd be nice to see Bruce and his impressive chin turn up to play the town's Sheriff. Ms. Sharon would be a great role for Drew Barrymore, who has had great chemistry with Rockwell in the past.

75. Deadpool
If any comic book character deserves a movie all of his own, it's Deadpool, if for no other reason than to make up for the atrocity that was the ending of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Deadpool is a badass, hilarious character and he needs a film that doesnt end with his mouth being sewn shut. The Merc with a Mouth began life as an occasional villain/antihero who popped up in various Marvel publications before earning enough fans for his own solo series. Wade Wilson/Deadpool was a member of the Weapon X program that spawned Wolverine and Sabretooth, among others, Deadpool was imbued with an artificial healing ability similar to Wolverines. However, he is better known for his skills as a mercenary, his witty banter, and his ability to break the fourth wall.
How Close Is It To Being Made?: A Deadpool movie has been in the works for a few years now, ever since Ryan Reynolds first appeared as Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds is still set to star, with Tim Miller directing a script by Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. In an interview with
IGN earlier this year, Reynolds stated that the film would have no relation to X-Men Origins: Wolverine and that he wants the movie to be rated R so it could be done right. Other reports have said that we can expect a lot of gore and for Deadpool to break the fourth wall. If things keep moving forward, its possible that we could see a Deadpool movie as early as 2014.
Casting Choices: Honestly, ever since it was announced that Ryan Reynolds had been cast in the role for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I haven't been able to think of a better actor for the role. The recipe for the perfect Deadpool actor is one part excellent comedic timing and one part action star, shake and pour. Reynolds fits the bill perfectly, and he's even a decent actor to boot. The main drawback of casting such a well-known actor in the role is the fact that he would have to wear a mask the whole time, although after the disaster that was Green Lantern, that might not be such a bad thing. So who else should be in the Deadpool movie? The fact that Deadpool is a mercenary means the movie could see him flying off on a few different missions that culminate in a big gory climax, allowing the filmmakers to include characters we might not otherwise see on the big screen, like Black Tom Cassidy or Taskmaster. Which characters can be included depends, of course, on which studio currently holds the rights. Regardless of whoever else shows up, the three main essentials are Blind Al (Deadpools elderly prisoner/friend... Helen Mirren), Weasel (his weapons supplier and occasional sidekick...Richard Ruccolo), and Siryn (his main crush... Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
