11 Emotional Stages Of Watching The Shawshank Redemption

10. Shock

Christ, prison looks scary as hell. With the majority of the film set inside Shawshank, it's only natural that there are a lot of scenes portraying daily life inside it. You're immediately sure that prison might be the most utterly terrifying place on earth, and you never want to go there. It's time to start being a better person. While Shawshank prison is a high security jail, the more involved you get into the plot, the more it seems like all prisons may well be just like this one. An inamte being beaten on his first night for crying? That would be you. Seeing some of the inmates seemingly enjoying themselves makes you incredibly skeptical. All those bars, all those sterile floors: ain't no way you'd survive a night in that place.
