Speaking of that overused laser vs. shield battle scene, one of the most enduring images to come out of the Civil War comic was of Iron Man blasting Cap’s shield at the end of their climactic battle. It’s a moment we’re eagerly waiting to see recreated on film, and since Marvel is loath to depict action scenes in their posters, it's exciting to see it done here.
Regardless of how the movie depicts their fight, AndrewSS7 has captured the ultimate moment of confrontation between the two famous heroes. If an unofficial manipulation can look this good, there's a lot to hope for the real thing to blow us away.
The colours are bright, the battle looks real, and the poster feels like we're watching the conflict at the heart of the movie. If a poster's job is to get us excited for a film, then teasing us with the moment of final confrontation is serving its purpose.
