12 Film Cameos That Were Cut From Theatrical Release

10. Ron Jeremy €“ Ronin

Ron Jeremy The 1998 film Ronin directed by John Frankenheimer and starring Robert De Niro and Jean Reno, followed a team of former Special Forces and intelligence agents tracking down a heavily guarded case through France. A commercial and critical success the film has been noted as having some of the best car chase sequences of the modern era, with Frankenheimer€™s previous experience in the 1966 racing film Grand Prix showcasing his particular talent. Within the film€™s credits, lurks the name of Ron Jeremy. The former adult film star has sporadically shown up in various media, most notably music videos and lower budget films. Back in 1998 however, Jeremy was invited to film a short scene during one of the film€™s renowned car chase sequences, where Jeremy, playing a fishmonger, would see his stall destroyed by the ongoing chase. Ronin, while a great film, isn€™t big on laughs and thus the addition of Jeremy, recognisable to some, may have been seen as taking away from the atmosphere the film had generated, thus leading to the studios decision to cut his role during post-production.
