12 Movie Spoilers We Didn’t Know Last Week (24th Jan)

Comic book movies, Labyrinth 2, He-Man and Stars Wars... Oh my.

In the week that Ben Affleck kinda sorta didn't rule out directing a Batman reboot, comic book movies once again ruled the roost thanks to the unveiling of the Suicide Squad trailer, a sneak peak at Batman V Superman and the first footage of Wonder Woman. And then of course there was the revelation that the Academy is set to change its membership rules to boost diversity and stop any more harmful hashtag campaigns and angry tirades from Spike Lee. Imagine a world where you had to change who was in your club so they'd stop being racist... Speaking of which, Doctor Strange added a new cast member - the excellent Benedict Wong - to play definitely racist (in that "oh, it was the past" sort of way that made the Mandarin "reboot" necessary) sidekick stereotype Wong. Let's hope for something a little more clever than the original comic. Oh and Terminator Genisys 2 has been cancelled and Avatar 2 is delayed again, as if you care. But what else did we learn from the last seven days in Hollywood? Well, there were big announcements for the somehow not dead Die Hard franchise, some on the future of Star Wars and the MCU and the worst reboot news since Jumanji 2017 was first a thing. This was the week in movie news...

12. Batman V Superman Is Still Adding Cast Members

Just when you thought Batman V Superman must be completely finished (given that it comes out in just over two months, Warner Bros have only gone and announced another new cast member. According to Entertainment Weekly, The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan will play Martha Wayne in a small cameo role alongside new co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan. No prizes for guessing what happens to those two.
