12 Upcoming Movie Sequels Nobody Asked For
These movies are indicative of much that is wrong with the contemporary Hollywood business model, and we all need to vote with our wallets to discourage it.
We as movie fans frequently decry Hollywood for its apparent lack of originality: for every movie sequel I'm looking forward to in the next few years (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars Episode VII, Jurassic World and so on), there are dozens of movie sequels that just shouldn't be happening at all. I'm generally talking about movies that, more often than not, were box office successes (for some ungodly reason), yet were panned by critics, or decent movies that simply do not warrant a sequel: there's no room for it, so nobody wanted it, yet the studios have gone ahead and started production anyway. Needless to say, aside from one or two curiosities on this list, I will be giving these 12 movies a very wide berth indeed: they're indicative of much that is wrong with the contemporary Hollywood business model, and we all need to vote with our wallets to discourage it. And of course, if you for any reason think these movies might actually work (lord knows why), feel free to explain yourself in the comments!
