25 Greatest Movie Posters Ever

Movie Posters are designed to catch the eye, but which is the greatest of all time?

Blade Runner
Warner Bros.

For the longest time, the best way to entice people to see a movie was with an eye-catching poster. Long before trailers were blasted around the world on our phones, tablets, and computers, audiences could only see them while watching a flick in their local theater, but posters were always around to grab our attention.

For this reason, movie posters quickly became one of the best movie marketing tools available, and a great deal of time and effort was put into creating something that captured the nature of a film's story without giving anything away.

While movie posters are still a big tool in any movie marketing campaign's arsenal, they were far more important in previous decades than they are today. Because of this, the posters released before everyone had access to the Internet at any time of the day or night, tend to present a much better image than the ones that came in the Information Age.

There have been as many posters as there have been movies, with many films releasing multiple posters with different images. This means that there are hundreds of thousands of movie posters out there, but only these 25 can be considered the best and most important in the history of film.
