Despite Spider-Man now being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony are pressing ahead with their own Spidey-verse efforts, starting with the Tom Hardy-starring Venom.
Hardy's taking on the role of Eddie Brock, the investigative journalist who becomes the host to the symbiote, with support from the always great and always underused Michelle Williams, as well as Riz Ahmed and Woody Harrelson. Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer directs, with a script from Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, Kelly Marcel, and Will Beall,
The full trailer, which actually showed Venom, offered more to be excited about, although it'll need to prove the character can really work without Spider-Man (though Tom Holland's Peter Parker is expected to cameo).
