5 Amazing Pixar Sequels You'll Never See

The next 5 ideas you're about to see will never make it past the pitch. Never ever.

For this edition of Sequels You'll Never See (SYNS), we're focusing on the children's blockbuster machine - Pixar. Founded in 1986 with their smash hit, Toy Story, Pixar has rolled out critically acclaimed features and shorts with clockwork precision. I'm happy to derail that train. The next 5 ideas you're about to see will never make it past the pitch. Never ever. A Bug's Life 2: Drones Unite! Original: A Bug's Life (1998) Pitch: After driving off the Fascist swarms of grasshoppers under the leadership of Hopper, Flik discovers a new radical philosophy that is spreading all over the yard from a termite philosopher, Marks. The political theory is as simple as it is profound. The Colony is more important than the queen. The Colony should control the means of gathering and the winter food. The queen and her bloodline, including Princess Atta and Dot, are a figures of oppression and degradation to the worker drone. Comrade Flik decides that the time of the worker is now. It's the dawn of the Red Ant. Monsters 3: Lotso's Revenge Original:Monsters, Inc (2001), Monsters University (2013) Pitch: Who doesn't love crossovers? After being discarded in the city land fill, Lotso crawled back to civilization ... where he discovers a door. On the other side of that door is a city filled with monsters. Perhaps Lotso should have been afraid, but he wasn't. Beneath the purple felt and the strawberry smell, Lots-o-Hugging Bear was a monster himself. Monstropolis is still recovering from their recent power shortage. Their food stores are perilously low and the threat of starvation looms over all. It was then that Lotso hatched a plan, a dark plan of revenge. It was once again time to return back to the greatest resource of the monsters ... the children.

Ratatouille: 14th Century

Original:Ratatouille (2007) Pitch: The prequel to the original movie is set in the 14th century. Imagine the scenic vistas, the beautiful country, the knights in shining armor, the piles of plague-ravaged dead. All despair as the Black Death and its mysterious origins wreak havoc all over Europe. Our story follows the cooking passions of a small rat from medieval France. Deni the Rat has a bold scheme to brighten the hearts and spirits He sneaks into a town of humans and befriends a young, cooking apprentice. Bad luck strikes again when the young cook falls ill with the Sickness. Poor Deni the Rat doesn't know what to do and all of his healing remedies don't seem to work! With his friend's failing health, they must press on with the utmost speed if they are to complete the big plan - prepare a grand feast for the entire town! What better way to bring joy and happiness? Wall-E 2: Recycled Original: Wall-E (2008) Pitch: With Earth slowly returning back to a lush and verdant paradise, the need for a 700-year garbage robot is quickly fading. For the first time in centuries, Wall-E is no longer needed. The humans though have learned their lesson about over consumption and waste. The answer is recycling! And with all of the morbidly obese humans taking special laxatives to help them lose weight, the solution for Wall-E's new task is obvious. Toy Story 4 Original: Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2 (1999), Toy Story 3 (2010) Pitch: Woody and the other toys were gifted to Bonnie when Andy went to college. Unfortunately, she's not as appreciative of her toys and decides to donate them on a Christmas Toy Drive for disadvantaged children around the world. Oh, the horror. The toys are now forcibly separated and flown all the way to different corners of the globe. Woody's new owner is Akmed, a poor boy whose family was lost in the war. Despite his best efforts, Woody doesn't seem to understand Poor Akmed isn't interesting in playing cowboys and indians. In fact, he isn't interested in playing with toys at all. He spends most of his time learning about the Great Satan. Woody learns that Akmad is going to a popular market filled with people. For the first time, the little boy wants to take his toy with him. But first, Akmad has to find a place to hide these four pounds of C-4 ...
