5 Directors Who Could Make A Great Shazam Movie

Who in Hollywood can "say the word" and bring Shazam to life?

While we're still awaiting official confirmation from Warner Brothers, all signs point to the fact that one of the upcoming DC Comics films currently slated for release between 2016 and 2020 belongs to Shazam. A Shazam film has been in the works for a while now, and even landed a director, 50 First Dates and Get Smart helmer Peter Segal, in 2009. However, the slate of DC films has shifted dramatically over the last five years, as Warner Brothers spent much of that time deciding which direction to take their extensive DC library of characters. They tried to expand the universe a bit with Green Lantern in 2011, but that project failed and sent them back to the drawing board. Once the Dark Knight trilogy came to a close, they decided to move forward with a new, extensive shared-universe plan, beginning with last year's Man of Steel. They'll hit the ground running in 2016 with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and move forward with two new DC films a year for the foreseeable future. Recently, Dwayne Johnson has been heavily teasing his involvement in a Shazam film, and recently confirmed that a script was in place and that Warner Bros. would officially announce the film soon. With an official announcement imminent, we decided to set our sights on the future, and examine Hollywood's army of directors to find out who's best suited for the director's chair. We've already done so with Aquaman, but set our sights now on who we'd love to see bring Shazam to life on the big screen. Yes, Segal could very well still be attached, but there's a very good chance that with a new slate of films and a new gameplan, Warner Bros. might seek out someone else to direct. So, without further ado, here are our choices for 5 directors who could make a great Shazam movie.
