5 Things James Gunn Just Revealed About Guardians Of The Galaxy 2
Director talks Infinity, sequels and an aversion to poop.
Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn has been talking to his fans on Facebook this weekend, giving some insight into working on the sequel and his general career (he wouldn't direct an episode of The Walking Dead or Game Of Thrones even if they ask).
Despite lots of rambling, and lots of distractions, Gunn hand-picked some questions - mostly leaning towards the Guardians sequel - that he could answer for fans, and offered a few small hints of what is to come. So far, the secrecy door has been locked tight on the film, and the director admitted he has to be careful with the Q&A's, mostly sticking to questions he can bat away with flat nos.
Still, information has a way of sneaking out, and Gunn did give fans some morsels to chew over during the 15 minute chat. Here's the biggest and funniest revelations he offered...
5. There Are No Humans
If you were paying attention to the end of Guardians Of The Galaxy, you'd know by now that Peter Quill is not as human as he initially suspected he was. His magical alien DNA all but confirmed that his father was a mysterious traveller from another world who shacked up with his mother like a sailor on shore leave.
James Gunn has now also confirmed that we won't be seeing any other humans joining as main characters in the Guardians sequel, especially Deadpool, who was the subject of a fan question.
Gunn confirmed that Deadpool would be impossible thanks to the rights issues but also offered a tiny nugget of information in his half-statement "and also there are no humans in Guardians Volume 2, basically. No main char..." At that point, he cut himself off saying maybe he shouldn't say anything...
Does that maybe mean that Peter Quill's mother isn't human either? Or is he playing with semantics?
Gunn also ruled out Iron Man ever joining the Guardians Of The Galaxy.
