6 DC Movie Sins Batman V Superman Will Probably Commit

Mindless action? Check and check.

Man Of Steel had a lot going for it. Free from the continuity of the past Donner films that weighed down 2006€™s Superman Returns, it promised a darker tone with an actual villain to fight instead of a repetitive Lex Luthor real estate scam. People felt Returns was too silly, too referential, so DC and Warner Bros. turned hard in the opposite direction, creating a Krypton that felt nothing like the past movies and a Superman who, rather than being an insufferable boy scout, was willing to take a life to save another's. Fans, critics, and creators (most notably Mark Waid) reacted pretty negatively. After the failure of Green Lantern, their last attempt to jump start their superhero films toward an eventual Justice League blockbuster, it was clear to DC and Warner that in order to save the franchise, they'd have to be bold. Enter Batman, the one character that can almost always be counted on to please just about everyone, Joel Schumacher disasters excepted. But as time has passed, it's become clear that rather than a slow build to its team movie like Marvel had, they're trying to make Batman V Superman into the Justice League movie they've always wanted with the inclusion of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and possibly others. Yup, it's starting to get a little crowded here. There are huge red flags on the horizon indicating this movie will be a train wreck for many of the same reasons past DC movies have failed.
