6 More Forgotten Films From the 80’s You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

Atari Cloak And Dagger As some of you may know by now, I love a good film. In fact if one hits the right buttons for me I become obsessed. For example, if I was only allowed to watch one movie once a day for the rest of my life, if said feature was "Big Trouble in Little China" I could happily live out the rest of my days free of any and all forms of visual storytelling. Thanks to my childhood situation mentioned in the previous article I was privy to a treasure trove of classics that were released in the era that was my preteen youth. Namely, the 80's. VHS and Beta were literally my best friends and we hung out together like the proverbial peas in a pod. Some of those in lieu of a competent parental unit managed to mould me into who I am today. For examples see previous articles by clicking here and here. And yet some of these iconic 80's films that represent an entire culture have been lost by the wayside throughout the years, either by simple mathematics (30 years is a long time for the human memory) or on purpose by way of filmmakers and production companies burying their own work, to the point where some never even got a DVD re-release (to my knowledge). So to carry on from the nine movies I previously mentioned, here are six more examples on classic 80's flicks that you may not even realize exist. All of which for separate reason deserve at least one viewing by anyone who defines their status in life as "cinephile" or "film connoisseur." As before, although these are in no particular order, I have left an obscure Australia production for last. For I am not sure it was even released outside of our beloved island. But even though it may have once been required viewing to prove your national pride, nowadays it has been relegated to the annals of history and the dubious status of "never heard of it." Which really is a damn shame.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
