2. Pirates Of The Caribbean
Okay let's be honest. By rights, Pirates of the Caribbean should suck. It’s a feature film based on a theme park ride. But as far as films based off rides go, Pirates of the Caribbean absolutely nails it.
It’s up there among the best family flicks of the past 20 years. It seems to have it all; great plot, amazing music, great script, Johnny Depp’s amazing, Geoffrey Rush is amazing, Lee Arenberg and Mackenzie Crook are great, Orlando Bloom is good, and Keira Knightley is also there.
Considering they had nothing but a fairly boring theme park ride to go from, the filmmakers produced something better than anyone could have imagined.
The following instalments may have dipped a little in quality, but the first stands tall as an incredible film made out of a truly terrible concept.
