Stanley Kubrick has been sadly missing from this Earth for around 14 years now, but his work is still enjoyed and loved by millions today. A Kubrick film always feels, sounds and looks as though he made it personally, and it is for these reasons that he has set himself in history as a true auteur. Love one of his films? Chances are you will probably love the rest. Same rule applies if you're not a fan, too. The biggest criticism of his work is that he leaves people feeling cold - with a few of my list entries here, I hope to dispel that myth and convince naysayers otherwise. Everybody always tells you that you should write about what you know, of course. Now, I am never a fan of blowing my own trumpet, but I like to think I know quite a bit about the work of Stanley Kubrick. At least, that's what I thought before I began compiling this list. Things I never knew about the man's work kept cropping up - simply writing about him made me want to revisit every single film mentioned throughout this list, which I ultimately did.
