8 Scenes That Would Have Ruined The Original Star Wars Trilogy

We're glad that nobody "Forced" these moments into the saga.

Of all the movie franchises in existence (and there are many), Star Wars is perhaps the one that is closest to people's hearts. Millions of people grew up watching the adventures of Luke Skywalker as he raced across the galaxy in an attempt to thwart the evil Darth Vader, after all, and for many the sense of fun and nostalgia associated with George Lucas' early films remains unrivalled today. Star Wars fans really care about Star Wars as a result; it was the series that captured their imaginations and made them fall in love with cinema. The one that inspired them to act out their favourite scenes as kids for hours upon hours, or pursue careers in creative fields in the hope that maybe they, too, could one day bring joy to millions in the same capacity. That said, it's kind of crazy to see the ways in which the original Star Wars trilogy very nearly didn't turn out the way that it did - how certain decisions were nipped in the bud before they had a detrimental effect on the franchise as a whole (and thank God!). Ill-judged narrative twists, characters being killed off way too prematurely, iconic lines that weren't so iconic before they were changed at the last minute - not to mention seemingly minor events that would have transformed the course of the whole saga had they been implemented... they're all here: eight scenes that would have ruined the original trilogy...
