Although Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of 10 years' worth of movies, it also acts as a new beginning, acknowledging and fixing some of the recurring problems that have haunted just about each and every one of the past 18 releases.

After dropping up to three tentpole movies a year, just about everyone - for better or worse - can identify the "Marvel formula".
