Aaron Eckhart takes up the BATTLE: LOS ANGELES

A movie I previously thought was destined to end up with Gerard Butler, I'm thankful to say that Columbia are banking on a different kind of actor to lead their upcoming action vehicle BATTLE: LOS ANGELES. The Hollywood Reporter say Aaron Eckhart, in his first deal since THE DARK KNIGHT opened in July, will lead the film as a Marine platoon leader who finds himself at the heart of a battle on the streets of Los Angeles against an alien invasion. It will be Aaron Eckhart's first action role. Jonathan Liebsman (DARKNESS FALLS, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING) is directing his biggest film to date, with no start date given.
