The Amazing Spider-Man 2: 10 Things That Sucked

With The Amazing Spider-Man 2 now released in the UK ahead of its US bow on May 2nd, audiences and critics are starting to chime in with their takes on the highly-anticipated sequel. After Marc Webb laid some solid if familiar foundations with 2012's reboot, there were expectations that he would move away from the franchise formula and carve out a new niche for the web-slinging superhero, something he's done albeit with mixed results in this alternately entertaining and frustrating summer blockbuster, which nevertheless feels hugely inferior to Marvel Studios' recent critical and audience hit, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Few can argue with the craft involved in constructing a movie of this magnitude, and the performances in particular are the evident strong suit, but this follow-up is also hampered by some amateur mistakes also made by earlier entries in the series, and overall it's merely a passable comic book flick rather than the great one it should have been. There's plenty to talk about, so without any further ado, here are 10 disappointing and flat-out poor elements of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Of course, please remember that SPOILERS WILL FOLLOW, so it's best to back out if you've not seen the movie yet or particularly care about having it spoiled. On the other hand, have you seen the movie yet? Do you agree with these criticisms? Did we miss anything? Feel free to add your own analysis in the comments!
