Ant-Man: 8 Moments From The Trailers (Not In The Film)

Not-so tiny differences to the movie you were sold.

Ant-Man is a Marvel movie, which means it comes with a lot of distinct, recognisable traits. You know: comic Easter eggs, foreshadowed plot points, cameos from other films, lots of quips. The list goes on. One of the odder Marvel traits, however, is to have trailers that feature an inordinate amount of footage that doesn't actually appear in the finished film. It's a irritating by-product of producing films that have such a massive fanbase, necessitating the release of teasers and TV spots before effects shots are completed and the final cut has been decided on. However, sometimes (like with Iron Man 2) footage will be shot with the explicit intention of appearing exclusively in the trailers, with no hope of it actually being in the released film. Avengers: Age Of Ultron was a particularly ridiculous example of this; not only did the trailers misattribute key moments to build up excitement (Captain America's shattered shield was nothing but a dream sequence), but many of the advertising's money shots weren't included in the theatrical version. Ant-Man isn't exactly innocent either; some of the most memorable moments from the trailers aren't anywhere to be seen in the finished movie, eight of which are highlighted here.
