Are Marvel Bringing Fantastic Four, Galactus And Silver Surfer To The MCU?

The first super team are heading home.

Following hot on the tail of news that Fox have acquired the rights to make X-Men TV shows - and will kick off their small screen universe with Legion and Hellfire shows - Den Of Geek are reporting that Marvel have caught themselves a big fish in exchange. According to the initial report, Marvel have swapped the rights wholesale, moving in for a second time on a third party rights holder who've made a dud to claim back their property. So they now have Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing, and The Human Torch and will hopefully make a film worthy of their status as the first family of Marvel comics. That's hard to imagine right now following Josh Trank's debacle, but if anyone can, Marvel can. Den Of Geek have now followed up their initial rumour to clarify with their source that Marvel now also have the rights to Galactus, Doctor Doom and Silver Surfer, which will no doubt be much more exciting for some Marvel fans than having the Fantastic Four themselves back. The idea of Galactus being the next big villain after Thanos is dealt with makes sense for escalation. And it means that's another step forward to securing all of the best line-up of the New Avengers, lead by Luke Cage. If Marvel can negotiate with Fox again and borrow Wolverine, they'd have a line-up - with Cage, Thing, Spider-Man (and new additions Sentry and Spider-Woman) - that would make the inevitable retirement of current Avengers veterans a lot more easy to accept. Let's get that sorted out next shall we? As it stands, DOG claim there will be a new Fantastic Four movie in 2020 (which would explain those three mystery movies Marvel just announced), and that could well be the first step to setting up a Galactus arc.
