Good news, Marvel fans: it looks like Marvel might finally be working on a Namor The Submariner project.

It's been a long time coming, even if it looked difficult thanks to rights issues, but now there's a report from Reel News Hawaii that suggests the company are finally going to deliver on the the Easter Egg hint way back in Iron Man 2 that the Sub-Mariner is active somewhere in uncharted areas of the MCU.

The rumour comes courtesy of a single tweet, which has nevertheless got industry commenters talking...

This follows on from the revelation last year from Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada that Marvel Studios have retained the films rights to the character. It was never quite as simple as that (when are rights issues that clean cut?), but it looked like something might finally be possible.

The source previously reported that The Inhumans would be shooting on Hawaii, which has now been confirmed, and some have immediately leapt to the conclusion that Namor may be set to appear in that show. However it happens, his introduction would be good news.
