Avengers 4: 8 Clues For What Happens Next

Seriously, how can you NOT see that foreshadowing...

Ant-Man and the Wasp might be tantalisingly close to release, but - slightly unusual for a Marvel film - it's seemingly suffering from a comparative lack of buzz. This was to be expected with the film following the mind-numbingly brilliant Avengers: Infinity War, and while there's little doubt it'll serve as a worthy follow-up to the first Ant-Man, the only thing that's on every Marvel fan's mind is Avengers 4 (or the World Cup, at least according to Disney).

The climactic fourth entry in the Avengers series is sure to bring plenty of devastating moments, and though it may be slightly premature to think of Phase 4, which'll kick off with Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and Guardians 3, the next sequel to the 'snappening' is bound to leave a lasting impact - you only have to look at the clues to understand why.

Littered throughout every Marvel film, and in Phase 3 more specifically, have been easter eggs, references and foreshadowing aplenty. Insight provided by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has also clued fans in on the future of the franchise, with the producer disclosing everything from potential new arrivals, to whole new films themselves.

It's a scary, post-snap world we're all living in, but once you piece the clues together, the future looks... just as scary.

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
