Avengers 4: Major Death Hinted By Funeral Casting Call

Is this the end of a beloved superhero?

Captain America Funeral
Marvel Comics

Death is hanging over Avengers: Infinity War and its so-far unnamed sequel. It's almost tangible, and it feels like an inevitability that we're going to end up losing at least some of the main cast of the MCU that we've all come to rely on over the past ten years.

And now we have a confirmation of at least one death in Avengers 4 as a Central Casting Georgia casting call has hit the web asking for mourners for a funeral scene.

For some reason, the casting needs the caveat of no fat people allowed. Because no superhero would ever want someone over a size 8 to cry over them. How very disgusting that would be...

Mourners: Looking for men and women over the age of 18, all ethnicities, to portray mourners. Especially looking for good character looks and expressive faces. This will be photo selected by the film’s directors! Size restrictions: Men no larger than 44 coat, women dress size 0-8. FOR NEW FACES ONLY! You cannot have worked on this project previously, or be booked on upcoming days. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Given that this sounds like random mourners, as opposed to a funeral with only family and friends of whoever dies, you'd have to suspect that we're looking at a public ceremony here for an important figure. That would suggest a fallen superhero (or a top level politician), and thoughts immediately turn to Captain America in that case.

And it's definitely an important scene, if the Russos are hand-picking the mourners. That adds an even more ominous note to the theory of it being Cap.
