Average American Male is picked up after Youtube Viral Campagin!

These three hilarious youtube videos convinced Fox Atomic to pick up this comedy project.

averageamericanmale.jpgA cool little story has gone up today at The Hollywood Reporter which tells us of Fox Atomic's latest script pick-up. The studio has greenlit a movie titled Average American Male and quickly attached John Tucker Must Die director Betty Thomas to direct the feature which is based on a novel by Chad Kultgen who is also penning the screenplay. What's so interesting about this pick-up, is that a Youtube Viral Marketing Campaign was setup by the book's publishers and became an immediate Internet sensation. Millions of visitors watched them and it was said to have boosted sales of the book phenomenally. Not only that but the videos are said to have a huge factor in Fox Atomic's decision to greenlit the movie. The three videos are below for your viewing pleasure. They are extremely funny and there is no doubt that these were the deal breakers for this project. I would definitely see this movie...

"Average's" unnamed narrator is a man in his late 20s who hangs out with his friends and girlfriend, plays video games and holds an insignificant job. He reveals to readers his racy thoughts on his girlfriend, watching porn, his disgust with people in general and that he should either live life alone or bite the marriage bullet.

This could be really fun and I thought those segments were hilarious. It's done enough to get another book sale from me and although a movie like this might get tiresome, there could be some serious laugh out loud moments here.

I think Fox Atomic have a huge hit in the making right here.
