After 3 years and a frankly terrible marketing campaign, Batman V Superman is here, and it hasn't exactly gone to plan for Warner Bros and DC. Though the film is assured to make significant money (that's what happens when you put Batman in a movie), the critical mauling the film has taken must have knocked some of the air out of the studio's lungs. Whether it will be enough to jettison Zack Snyder and employ someone better remains to be seen. But truthfully, Batman V Superman isn't half as bad as some are having you believe. Yes, it's poorly written and poorly directed, but some of the component parts are great, and the spectacle is extremely entertaining once Snyder's numb-headed approach to story-telling is ignored. And as DC Fanboys will tell you, it feels like it's been made with fans squarely in mind. As a reflection of that, the film is full of Easter Eggs and DC references, and hunting them out is one of the most rewarding experiences the film offers. Obviously, if you're reading this before you've seen the film, a couple of words of warning: first, there will be SPOILERS here (obviously), and secondly, do not stick around for an after-credits stinger. The credits music is all well and good, but waiting that long without so much as a Suicide Squad Joker laugh teaser is just plain annoying...
34. Bill Finger
It may not seem like a major thing, but the inclusion of Bill Finger's name in the opening credits is the final step in a quest for justice for the co-creator of Batman. Until now, Bob Kane has been solely credited, but Batman V Superman rightly acknowledges what Kane never did - that he shared the creator billing. The final credits inevitably also offers Special Thanks to other comic geniuses including Frank Miller (obviously) and Jim Lee.
