Batman V Superman: New Spoiler Details Lex Luthor's Puppet Master Role

Guess who's pulling the strings.

No, not the DC supervillain who was rebranded as The Puppeteer. That would be terrible. In a not at all surprising reveal, it turns out that Lex Luthor is a manipulative criminal mastermind pulling the strings behind the scenes in Batman V Superman. Like he always is. The semi-official confirm comes from Odeon Cinemas, who unveiled a new synopsis for the superhero ensemble on their website and suggested that it's Luthor who turns Batman and Superman against each other:
At long last, see Batman and Superman square off against each other in 'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice', an epic superhero showdown, which will change both their lives forever. Clark Kent doesn't trust Gotham's mysterious masked vigilante. Bruce Wayne doesn't trust the alien who nearly destroyed Metropolis. And Lex Luthor, who hates Superman more than anyone, is manipulating both of them for his own twisted ends. Choose your side: the Man of Steel or the Dark Knight? Learn the answer to the age-old question - who would win? - in 'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice'.
Putting aside the fact that the film definitely WON'T answer that age-old question (because the fighting is probably going to be minimal before they realise where their efforts should actually be concentrated), it's no surprise that it's Luthor playing Iago in this dynamic. It certainly fits Jesse Eisenberg's look for the character, who isn't going to be going toe-to-toe with even any low level superheroes and coming out on top. While it could be suggested that the synopsis is something of nothing, Odeon can't just invent that information: it has to come from official publicity material, so you'd have to suspect it's at least partly true.
